Why not? What did we have that wasn't well worth losing, can you tell me that?
We can romanticize it all we want, dredge up poetry and trees and Budapest, but
if we're honest with ourselves it's easy to see -- we never suited. There
wasn't anything beyond the wide river, nothing past Budapest. Nada.
